With the uprise of youth stepping up and speaking out on racial stereotypes and injustices in communities, five Ladue high school students spoke with me about the problems face everyday. The idea of this video originated from students at Harvard University and the misconceptions of African-American students there. The five students (James, Chuckie, Saba, Semhar, and Kaitlynn) were all very excited to get their point across. They explained to me how stereotypes they face effects them and how you shouldn't judge someone based off a flawed idea. This video is very different to what I am used to, overall it was more creative. I believe I improved my interviewing techniques as well, earlier interviews were strictly Q&As, but this interview was more of a conversation. The five students were comfortable and I was comfortable, this was overall my favourite video to piece together!
