This semester we were assigned a short news package. In the beginning, I planned on interviewing a cancer survivor. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with cancer again and was unable to be interviewed. Once I heard the bad news my family and I contacted her with our condolences, and I quickly found a new story. I read the patch for ideas, but I found none that were interesting. It wasn't until I was walking to class and saw a huge Blood Drive poster. I knew right when I saw the poster that was what I planned on covering. The interview went relatively well, it was just the editing that did not. Managing time is the most important aspect of video journalism. My editing took about a week, but in the end it all worked well. This story is unique, because I learned a lot and Laura Kaufman (the sponsor) shared a touching story.
